Peterson has been named to the HON Honorable Mention Team as a Middle Blocker, the only Cumberland player to earn All-Conference recognition this season! 👏
Coach Miller shared his praise, saying:
“We’re proud of Alexis for earning All-Conference recognition and grateful to the entire team for working hard to improve and showing up to compete every night.”
Way to represent, Alexis! 💪🔥

For Halloween, our #CSDGoBeavers 7th graders took on a sweet challenge designing hand devices to pick up their candy! 🍬🤖 The only rules: no real hands in the bowl, and their creations had to resemble a real human hand. From clever mechanisms to one group even adding a vacuum feature, their creativity was on full display! 👏
Next up in STEM: 3D design and Virtual Reality game development, the innovation never stops! 🎮

They started by touring one of our groundwater wells, where Casey explained how tap water makes its way into our homes. Then, they visited the Wastewater Treatment Plant, where Katie did an amazing job showing how used water is cleaned and safely returned to the system. 👏
A huge thank you to these community experts for sharing their knowledge and helping our students see just how important and precious water really is! 💙

🎶🎵 The last week of October, nine of our students from Cumberland High School performed at the Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) High School and Middle Level State Honors concerts in downtown Madison and Verona. These students, chosen after intense auditions, rehearse with nationally recognized conductors to prepare and perform challenging pieces of music.
The WSMA State Honors Music Project brings some of Wisconsin’s top young musicians together in a highly disciplined, professional setting. Of the 1,500 high school students who audition, 430 of the finest young musicians in Wisconsin are selected. They unite for the first time in June at a summer camp with their conductor, section coaches, and other students to prepare for their final concert in October.
Middle school students go through a similar audition process, where 300 students in grades 6-8 were selected from more than 1,000 who auditioned for the program in April. These concerts are attended by students, parents, teachers, alumni and general public from around the state and beyond, and mark the highest point of the 2025 WSMA High School State Honors Music Project.
📸 Featured in the photos: High School Honors Students Nadia Benson, Willow Franc, Cash Daniels and Andrew Carlson. Middle Level Honors students and staff include Lucas West, Reina Furseth, Jovina Skinner, Nathan Pierce, Quinn Fauske, Elsa Carlson, and Abella Friese standing with previous director, Janet Holdt.
